Men Hair Loss Treatments

Male hair loss is typically caused by three general factors, and they are genes, hormones and age. Regular baldness is usually caused by a hereditary factor, and it can be transferred to the descendents by any one or both of the parents. Every human being has twenty three pairs of chromosomes, and an individual who inherits hair loss from the parents is usually inheriting it from the autosomal genes which is not sex linked. It should be noted that when a person inherits baldness from the parents, it doesn’t mean that the baldness will happen by itself just like that. Many other factors do play their part in determining whether a person will start balding, such as stress, hormone imbalance and age. It is interesting to know that treatment for inherited baldness is still not discovered, and it suggests that the remedy to totally cure inherited baldness is not going to be available in the short run.

The presence of androgens in the body is another cause of male hair loss, and it is not likely to happen when a person has not yet reached his puberty years. During puberty, a man starts producing a hormone called testosterone and this hormone plays a huge part in developing changes in the body. The changes include the voice, sperm production, development of sex drive, growth of pubic hair and axillary, development of strong muscles all over the body and the presence of body odor. Testosterone also promotes the growth of beard and acne, but it can cause baldness when there is a presence of excessive androgens in the body. The theory is simple – when testosterone, androgen and another hormone called DHT combines together, it will cause the hair follicles to die.

It should be known that even though genes hereditary and hormones play a huge part in creating baldness, it is not applicable if a person has not reached a certain age. This means that age plays a huge factor in determining baldness, apart from genes and hormones. It is often observed that when a person reaches puberty he doesn’t automatically experience hair loss. This suggests that a person must be exposed to testosterone, androgen and DHT for quite some time before the hair will start thinning.
