It is important for women to prevent hair loss especially after pregnancy, because almost fifty percent of women are actually experiencing hair loss after they gave birth. Usually, the hair will grow back normally within six months, but some women experience continued hair loss and unable to resume normal hair growth even after a year or two. There are some remedies suggested to prevent hair loss, but some of them have not yet been proven to be effective and considered as old wives’ tales. However, if a person is desperate enough she should try just about everything to really know the effects. As long as an approach is safe to be used and doesn’t have any side effects, it would not be a loss to try it in the first place.
Some women massage their scalp to prevent hair loss. Even though this is not proven to be effective, if the massaging is included together with the application of coconut oil, it will definitely promote hair growth. Some other women stand on their head in the intention to enhance the blood circulation to the follicles of the hair. Massive combing and brushing of the hair is also used by some women, and it is thought to be able to stimulate the blood flow, thus promoting the hair follicles to produce healthy, strong strands of hair. However, if a woman starts losing hair not because she has delivered a baby, she should consult the doctor to see what he has to say. The use of minoxidil can help in promoting new growth of hair, and it should be used with recommendation from a doctor.
Using a good shampoo can also be an effective way to prevent hair loss. It is wise to choose a shampoo containing rogaine in it, because rogaine is able to delay the progression of hair loss. When purchasing the shampoo, it is important to read the label carefully and women should avoid using shampoo created especially for men, and vice-versa. After purchasing the shampoo, it has to be used regularly to notice a visible result. Most effective products will show their efficacy after continued use of two month or more, so a person must be patient enough if no visible results can be seen in the initial stage.
